Butler County food lovers can feel OK about visiting as many donut shops in a day as possible.

The Butler County Visitors Bureau will hold the inaugural the Donut Trail Cycle Challenge on Sept. 1. The ride will start from Downtown Hamilton’s Marcum Park & RiversEdge Amphitheater on at 10 a.m. and combine the Donut Trail concept with a day of cycling around Butler County.

Participants will choose from a 28-mile loop or 58-mile loop and pick up their official Donut Trail Cycle Challenge bib passport at registration.

Each route will feature 12 Donut Yum Zones representing each of the 12 donut shops on the original Donut Trail. At each zone, event staff members will mark the bib passport for completion. Riders who finish all 12 yum zones will earn a coveted medal and inaugural Donut Trail Cycle Challenge t-shirt.

The eating isn't required, but it's definintely encouraged.

“We are excited to bring the Donut Trail into the sports arena,” said Joshua Stephens, Director of Sports Marketing & Sales of the Butler County Visitors Bureau. “This is an event that cycling enthusiasts state-wide have asked for since the Donut Trail launched in 2016. The inaugural Cycle Challenge event will be one to remember.”
