ST. CLAIR TWP. — A house fire in St. Clair Twp. Monday morning sent a resident and a firefighter to the hospital for treatment.

The fire broke out just before 9 a.m. on Meadow Drive in the Sharon Park neighborhood, St. Clair Twp. Fire Chief Larry Anglin said.

A resident called 911 stating the house was “heavily involved with fire,” the chief said.

Hamilton, New Miami and Ross Twp. fire departments responded for mutual aid.

A male resident, who was able to get two females out of the house safely, was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to Anglin. A New Miami firefighter was also transported to a hospital then treated and released.

Firefighters saved seven cats and four turtles from the burning house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Butler County Fire Investigation Team.
