FIRST REPORT: One dead after 2-vehicle crash in Liberty Twp.

Jeffrey McMurray Sr., 70, of Fairfield Twp., died at the scene of the accident that happened at about 8:20 p.m. in the 4200 block, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary investigation indicates McMurray pulled out of the Wendy’s parking lot in front of a truck and was struck broadside by the truck, according to Butler County Sheriff’s Sgt. Melissa Gerhardt.

McMurray was entrapped in his vehicle, she said. The driver of the truck was transported to West Chester Hospital for treatment of a leg injury.

McMurray died of multiple traumatic injuries, according to an autopsy conducted by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. His death was ruled an accident.

The Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team continues to investigate.

The crash is not believed to be weather related, according to investigators.
