A shooting on Friday morning in Fairfield resulted in the arrest of a suspect.

Oscar Luis Torres Ramos, 23, is charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony. He is accused of shooting Juan Luis Garcia Vega, 22, at an apartment complex on Eastgate Boulevard.

Vega had driven away from the incident and was found in his vehicle on Nilles Road, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to University of Cincinnati Hospital and is stable.

Ramos is being held in Butler County Jail and is awaiting arraignment, Fairfield police said.

The incident is the second shooting in Fairfield in the past two days. Police responded Thursday to a shooting at a home on Planet Drive.

Once they arrived they found the victim already dead. Police have not yet identified the victim and said the circumstances related to the death have not been made known to the public.

Law enforcement officials said they know everyone involved. No arrests had been made by Friday.

Members of the media at the scene said they saw two people approach police officers to seek information and they collapsed on the ground after finding out what happened.

The investigation remains active.
