Duck Donuts, which debuted in 2006, takes its name from one of its first locations in Duck, N.C. It launched its first franchise in Williamsburg, Va. in 2013.
Local franchise co-owner Kerry Foley said her family was vacationing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and would go to Duck Donuts as a tradition.
“We started asking a couple of questions and found out that they were franchising and we’re excited about the opportunity to bring it to Ohio,” Foley said. “We love the community here and … we know that they’re very involved. That was a great appeal for us.”

Another 130 are set to open in the next four years, 90 of them by the end of this year, Kellum said.
“It’s very quick growth for us and we’re excited about that,” she said.
