Hamilton police say they have had multiple reports of graffiti at various downtown Hamilton spots this month.

On Nov. 8, the attendant at the McDulin parking garage on Second Street reported vandalism that happened over the weekend, according to a Hamilton police report. Graffiti was found on a door and entryway of the fifth and second floors, and the aluminum casing around a fire department standpipe was damaged.

Early Tuesday morning, black graffiti was tagged on four doors at Kornylak at 400 Heaton Street. The police report said the graffiti had the initials “NCK.”

Journal-News staff who traveled along Heaton Street on Tuesday spotted the same newer graffiti in several visible locations.

Similar graffiti to what was spotted at Kornylak was also visible on a door at the Hamilton Central YMCA and at a neighboring market, per police.

Hamilton Sgt. Rich Burkhardt said photos of graffiti were sent to the department’s neighborhood police unit. An officer is assigned to that unit for investigation and documenting groups tagging in the city, he said.
