The project is still pending approval by the township’s zoning commission for its final development plan, Barb Wilson, township spokeswoman said. The zoning commission has approved a zoning change for the property.
If Group Health opens doctor offices in West Chester Twp. on Princeton-Glendale Road, it will give the practice standalone offices closer to the campus of TriHealth's recently acquired hospital in Hamilton at 3125 Hamilton-Mason Road. TriHealth acquired the former Butler County Medical Center in a deal that closed March 2012.
The hospital campus, which includes a small 10-bed hospital and outpatient services such as imaging, physical therapy and a sleep center, was since renamed Bethesda Butler County TriHealth Hospital. A freestanding emergency department was opened on the campus in February 2013.
Group Health Associates also has offices on the Bethesda Butler County campus, situated near the intersection of Ohio Bypass 4 and Ohio 129.
TriHealth spokesman Joe Kelley declined comment on the new doctor offices until plans are finalized.
“Anything said at the present time about specifics would be premature,” Kelley wrote in an email Tuesday.
Duke Realty Corp. would own the medical offices and lease it to TriHealth, according to the minutes of an April 2013 Butler County planning commission meeting.
“What they are proposing here is a 50,000 square foot development that is expandable by 20,000 square feet and has access on the north end of the property at a future signalized intersection,” read the minutes of the county planning meeting.
The West Chester Twp. property is owned by Baumhower Properties LLC, according to property records on the Butler County Auditor’s Office website.
