West Chester Police ID dead victim in Friday’s fatal shooting, not looking for suspects

West Chester Police named Saturday the victim in Friday afternoon’s fatal shooting, and said officers are not looking for suspects.

Jesse K. Buabeng, 25, of West Chester Twp., was shot to death in the Lakota Lake Apartments, township spokeswoman Barb Wilson said.

The name of a surviving victim, who was shot in the foot, was not released Saturday.

Police responded to a call of shots fired at 3:50 p.m. Friday from an apartment in the 6900 block of Lakeside Drive in the apartment complex.

“Upon arrival, police found two males with apparent gunshot wounds,” Wilson said in a release. “One male was deceased. The second male had a gunshot wound to the foot and was transported to West Chester Hospital.”

Wilson said police are not looking for suspects.

“At this time, West Chester Police are not looking for suspects and have no reason to believe there is a threat to the community,” she said.

The township police department is working with the county prosecutor’s office, according to Butler County Assistant Prosecutor Brad Burress.

The shooting remains under investigation.
