Peters, a 25-year sheriff’s office veteran, began her law enforcement career as a corrections officer, then moved to patrol deputy and was most recently a detective in Liberty Twp.

But Peters has also spent 30 years as a radio personality with several stations, including WGRR-FM (103.5), and is now on Sunday mornings as Kim Carson
Sheriff Richard Jones said Peters has the experience as a deputy and with the media to make her a good fit as PIO.
“She understands the media and she understands the sheriff’s office,” Jones said. “What you really need to be PIO is to be outgoing and to be able to talk to large groups at times. I think she has that.”
Peters said she wants to be the person who tells the public more about the different aspects of the sheriff’s office using videos and social media.
“I think people like to see the uniform and what we are doing and why,” she said. “I want to be a transparent as possible about the different departments and let people see how we operate.”
Peters, a graduate of Little Miami High School in Morrow, said she worked her way up in the radio industry and and law enforcement and plans to keep her career in both.
“It is my stress reliever,” Peters said of her radio show. “Something fun and creative that I can do that is different from some of the bad things I see in law enforcement.”
