When police and fire personnel arrived, Metcalf, 63, was dead. An investigation determined that the earlier disturbance was over a vehicle that the victim sold to a man from Miamisburg.

Miamisburg and Dayton police aided in locating the individuals that participated in the assault, according to Middletown police. They are being questioned by detectives.

An autopsy was conducted today by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. Police are awaiting the autopsy results to determine charges.

“We just don’t know why he died at this point,” said Major Scott Reeve.

Detective Ryan Morgan is in charge of the investigation. Anyone with additional information should contact the detective at 513-425-7735.
