A boy was rescued after a passerby saw him surface from the pond in the Villages of Wildwood off Ross Road in Fairfield, said officer Doug Day, Fairfield police spokesman.
The boy was treated at the scene and reunited with his mother, according to a press release.
The incident was first reported at 7:37 p.m.
Police say the Morance Harrison was doing “donuts“ on the former golf course land when the truck went into the pond, a former part of the golf course which is now Wildwood.
Police have heard conflicting stories from witnesses. One said Morance Harrison came up with the boy and descended to get the girl. Another said the boy was visible, but the father was not.
The boy was released to his mother, who lives in Forest Park.
According to the release, the Fairfield Fire Department and the Task Force One Dive Team then searched the pond for the truck and other passengers.

The truck was found and removed with no occupants, and then the bodies of Morance and Nena Harrison were recovered from the water a short time later.
The crash is still being investigated. The Butler County Coroner’s Office conducted autopsies on the father and daughter Tuesday morning.
