A 16-year-old Middletown girl was charged with drug abuse/heroin, a fifth-degree felony, after she allegedly was found with the drug during a traffic stop in Middletown, according to police.

The teen, a front-seat passenger in the vehicle, allegedly placed her hand underneath her buttocks, then threw a plastic baggie containing an unknown brownish substance as she was getting out of the car, the report read.

She was transported to Butler County Juvenile Detention Center on Sunday. On Monday, a juvenile judge remanded her back into the center and her pre-trial hearing was set for Oct. 1, according to court records.

On Sunday morning, Middletown police were called to the 1900 block of Logan Avenue on a report on a suspicious man with a crowbar. Police found a vehicle matching the description of the car at Linden Avenue and Crawford Street. The driver, Roberto Martinez, was charged with driving under suspension.
