Christina Wyatt, 26, of Freedom Court in Middletown, was found dead Tuesday morning lying next to a vehicle in the parking lot of Best Western Monroe Inn on New Garver Road.
The Butler County Coroner’s Office has listed Wyatt’s cause of death as undetermined pending test results.
Ruth Ikramov, Wyatt’s mother, told the Journal-News that her daughter had struggled with drug abuse for years and she believes she died of a heroin overdose. She said Wyatt was staying at the Monroe hotel for the night with Lattimore and another person.
“The heroin is a new one for her,” Ikramov said, noting abuse of the drug is “out of control” throughout the county.
Wyatt leaves behind three young children that Ikramov is working to get custody of.
Lattimore has a lengthy criminal history. Middletown Municipal Court records show 49 cases for Lattimore dating back to 1996, including drug abuse, domestic violence, trafficking in drugs, felonious assault and driving under suspension. In 2004, Lattimore was sent to prison after pleading guilty to trafficking in drugs.
Monroe police had not yet taken Lattimore into custody by this newspaper’s press time. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police at 513-539-9234.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
