On Friday night, officers confirmed there had been a fatal shooting at the scene, but Middletown Police Major Scott Reeve declined to say Sunday if Stewart suffered a gunshot wound.

Reeve said Stewart’s death was not a random act and that he was targeted.

Several people are in custody and being questioned by detectives throughout the night.

Sunday afternoon, Reeve announced Kyles’ arrest.

“Our investigation indicates that Michael was targeted because of the drug dealing that was taking place,” Reeve said. Kyles took Stewart’s drugs and money from the home, according to Reeve.

Anyone with additional information about the incident should call Detective Steve Winters at 513-425-7786.
