Curtis Childers, 28, had slurred speech when he was ordering, Wendy’s employees told police. When Childers pulled his 2005 Chevrolet truck to the second window, he was unresponsive and employees knocked on his window. Police said he was unresponsive and was in a “drooling state,” the report read.

His vehicle was eventually towed out of the drive-thru of the restaurant located on Towne Boulevard.

While Childers was transported to the Middletown City Jail, he nodded off while talking to police. He also fell asleep during the booking process, according to the report.

Earlier in the day, police were called to a residence in the 4800 block of Caprice Drive on a report that a man was sleeping behind the wheel. Childers told police that he was tired and he was waiting for some co-workers. Police told him to go home and get some rest.

Childers is scheduled to appear Wednesday, July 11, in Middletown Municipal Court, according to court records.
