POLICE: Man who allegedly killed wife had no criminal past
Crista, 41, was found dead in the bathroom, suffering from a gunshot wound from the head, according to Middletown police.
After the shooting, Nitz, 45, fled on his motorcycle and was located by officers in Meigs County, Ohio, about 160 miles, or three hours, from Middletown. There was a chase and Nitz was taken into custody, police said. He was booked into the Middletown Jail at 10:50 p.m. Monday
When arrested, Nitz had was in possession of a gun, but police said they do not know if it was the weapon used to kill Crista.
Nitz is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge of murder Wednesday morning in Middletown Municipal Court.
Bobby and Crista Nitz had been married for seven months on Sunday, and a domestic incident at their home on Short Street “came out of the blue,” according to Middletown police.
The girl is in the care of her biological father, police said.
