A Hamilton man is facing felony charges after allegedly shooting another man Wednesday night.

Officers were called to a residence in the 1700 block of Greenwood Avenue at about 5:35 p.m. on a report of a man suffering a gunshot wound. They found William Lewis Jr., 39, in the garage bleeding from a gunshot to the leg, according to the Hamilton police report.

Lewis was transported to Fort Hamilton for treatment.

Witnesses identified Zarian Nichols, 24, of the Greenwood residence, as the suspect in the shooting.

Police convinced Nichols to come out of the house, and he was charged with felonious assault and having weapons under disability.

Nichols was arraigned this morning in Hamilton Municipal Court, where bond was set at $250,000. He remains housed in the Butler County Jail.
