Police say James Edward Geran, 45, the man who shot himself yesterday after a standoff in Trenton, is a suspect in two deaths.
Geran has not been charged, police told the Journal-News today.
The sheriff’s office said today it is investigating both deaths as homicides.
Police said they believe Geran killed a woman in her 20s inside a vehicle and then dumped her body late Tuesday night along Woodsdale Road in Madison Twp.

Geran then allegedly killed an “elderly woman” during a hostage situation hours later Wednesday in a Trenton apartment on Sal Boulevard, according to the sheriff’s office.
Both women were fatally shot, according to police.
Police said they are processing three crime scenes: a stretch of road along Woodsdale Road; the Sal Boulevard apartment; and a car that was parked outside the Sal Boulevard apartment.
Geran was taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown after police said he attempted suicide by placing a gun under his chin and firing once. He was then flown to a Dayton area hospital, where deputies are standing guard outside his hospital room, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police have not released the names of the two women killed.
