A Hamilton man has pleaded guilty to having sex with four minors.

Daniel W. Broxterman, 56, of the 700 block of Brookwood Drive, was indicted in August on 10 counts of rape involving children under the age of 13, one count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and three counts of gross sexual imposition.

Broxterman, who had served as a minister for a small Hamilton church that is now apparently closed, pleaded guilty Monday to four counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition in Butler County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Charles Pater sentenced Broxterman to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years. The sentence was agreed to by the defense and prosecution in exchange for the guilty plea.

The crimes occurred between 2014 and July 2019.

Broxterman had been held in the Butler County Jail in lieu of a $1 million bond since a county grand jury returned the indictments.

A rape report was made to Hamilton Police on July 22, which is when the investigation began. Rape reports were also filed on Aug. 2 and Aug. 4, according to police records.

Butler County Common Pleas court records show Broxterman was convicted of attempted gross sexual imposition in January 1994 and sentenced to a year in prison.
