Hamilton man charged after Monroe bank robbery

A Hamilton man has been charged with aggravated robbery for allegedly robbing a bank Tuesday morning.

James L. Ross III, 25, of the 800 block of Vine Street in Hamilton, was taken into custody at gunpoint by Monroe police just minutes after the robbery at Lebanon Citizens National Bank off Ohio 63.

Tellers at the bank told dispatchers that Ross “counted down” as though he had a bomb.

Ross displayed a note demanding money but did not display a weapon, according to tellers at the bank on Clarence F. Warner Drive.

He fled the immediate area with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Middletown Officer Dennis Jordan and police K-9 Koda were tracking the suspect when Monroe officers in the parking lot of a nearby Motel 6 spotted the suspect.

A second man was arrested in the parking lot of the motel on a warrant, according to Monroe police.
