Guilty plea for former teacher who resigned over nude photo

A former Cincinnati school teacher has pleaded guilty to an amended charge in connection with hampering an investigation into a theft and nude photo.

Jaime Climie, 37, of Lynn Avenue in West Chester Twp., appeared today in Butler County Area III Court where she entered the guilty plea to disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, as part of a plea bargain. She was originally charged with obstructing official business, a second-degree misdemeanor, that carried a possible sentence of up to 90 days in jail.

Judge Dan Haughey gave Climie a suspended 10-day jail sentence for the disorderly conduct charge. She was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus $125 in court costs. The judge placed Climie on two-year non-reporting probation.

Climie was charged in January by West Chester Police who said she obstructed their investigation late last year.

On Nov. 24, West Chester Police were called to Climie’s home in the 9000 block of Lynn Avenue on a report of a theft. At that time Climie claimed she could not locate her cell phone and she reported someone had posted a nude photograph of her without her permission on the Internet, according to police. That photo was taken on the phone reported stolen.

Through the investigation, it was discovered Climie had been untruthful, according to detectives. Police said Climie later admitted she had sent the photograph of herself to someone other than whom she originally claimed, according to police.

Climie resigned from her teaching position at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy on Snider Road in December after the nude photo was discovered online.

The nude photo was discovered on a revenge porn website, where hackers, ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends often post inappropriate photos, along with personal information about the person. Next, the embarrassing photos can be forwarded to family, friends and colleagues, according to our news partners at WCPO.

The photo was posted to the website Nov 23. Climie filed the theft report the next day.
