Arseneau was charged by Lebanon police in July on theft charges for allegedly issuing herself 13 extra payroll checks, each for $1,500, according to Lebanon Municipal Court records.
In August, Arseneau appeared in municipal court and waived her right to a preliminary hearing. Her case was then automatically bound over to a Warren County grand jury for consideration.
Arseneau is free from jail on her own recognizance.
Lebanon police began investigating Arseneau on July 9, and she was arrested after an interview with detectives on July 28.
Arseneau had been with the chamber since 2003 until her June 30 resignation without explanation.
The chamber released the following statement: “In reviewing records following her departure, irregularities in financial statements were identified by our auditors, Bone & Bone CPAs, and the Lebanon Police Department was contacted immediately.”
