Minor was transported by medical helicopter to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he is in critical condition, according to his sister, Deerika Curtis.
“He is fighting,” she said.
Sgt. Richard Burkhardt said detectives are still investigating. No arrests had been made Wednesday afternoon.
The police report lists several witnesses, which frustrates Curtis.
“There were lots of witnesses and no one has come forward,” she said.
Curtis said her bother was on his way home and stopped to talk to friends.
“Him and his friends were sitting on the porch talking and a group of people came across the street and started shooting at them,” Curtis said.
It is the third life-threatening shooting on Hamilton streets since January.
On June 27, 19-year-old Shon Walker was fatally shot at point-blank range just after 9 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 400 block of East Avenue. A 17-year-old boy was arrested earlier this month and charged with murder for Walker’s death.
On Jan. 26, 18-year-old Londale Harvey was gunned down while getting into his car in the city’s Lindenwald neighborhood. His homicide remains unsolved. Like Walker’s death, police say Harvey’s slaying was not a random act.
