Conrad, who is a Fairfield High School teacher, faces criminal charges for alleged sexual activity with a female student between August and October.
He appeared in Butler County Common Pleas Court last week after being indicted by a grand jury on two counts of sexual battery, a third-degree felony; sexual imposition, a third-degree misdemeanor; and contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a minor, a first-degree misdemeanor.
In a school board resolution, members last week also stated Conrad should be “suspended without pay or other fringe benefits during the pendency of termination proceedings.”
Fairfield Schools Superintendent Billy Smith issued a statement that read: “The district believes that Mr. Conrad’s conduct constitutes ground for termination. He is being suspended without pay and benefits during the pendency of termination proceedings. We have no additional comment at this time.”
Conrad, 26, of Victor Court in Hamilton, turned himself in to deputies in Butler County Common Pleas Court minutes before his arraignment in Judge Keith Spaeth’s courtroom.
The investigation began when Fairfield police were contacted by Butler County Children Services about possible illegal activity between a Fairfield High School teacher and student. Police opened an investigation, advised school administrators of the allegations.
The alleged activity happened between Conrad and a 16-year-old female student between Aug. 16 and Oct. 9, according to the indictment.
A pretrial hearing has been set for Dec.14. Davidson declined comment after his arraignment.
