Police have released a composite drawing of a suspect in the sexual assault of a Middletown mother who said she was attacked in her home with her baby nearby.

The woman called police at about 2:05 a.m. March 24 from her home on Lafayette Avenue and told officers an unknown man had entered her residence through the front door that she thought had been locked, according to the police report.

After feeding her baby, the woman said she went downstairs to smoke a cigarette in the kitchen when a man came up behind her, sexually assaulted her, and then ran out the back door.

Maj. Scott Reeve said the victim met with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and a sketch of the suspect was developed.

“She was very emotionally distraught and feared for her safety,” according to the police report.
