Detectives investigating report of man shot while walking dog

Detectives have few leads about the shooting of a 32-year-old man who says he was shot early Sunday morning while walking his dog in a Liberty Twp. mobile home park.

Juvenal Galan showed up and Atrium Medical Center in Middletown early Sunday morning with a gunshot wound to the right side and had been released when deputies got to the hospital.

After learning of Galan’s address in Rochester Hills Mobile home park on Hamilton-Middletown Road, deputies responded to talk with him, according to the report.

Galan said while he was walking his dog at about 1 a.m. he saw a white truck, then felt something hot on his right side and went home, according to the report.

A girlfriend transported Galan to the hospital. The shot entered Galan under the armpit, and the bullet is in his shoulder, according to the report.

Butler County Sheriff’s Lt. Rick Bucheit said detectives do not believe there is any danger to residents in the mobile home park. But there is little to go on to develop a suspect based on the information given.
