Khalyn Jackson, 23, who is Williams’ cousin, was identified as the suspect. His parole officer and Trotwood Police Department took him into custody shortly after the shooting, and Jackson was charged in Middletown with felonious assault and parole violation.

An ambulance was at the scene near Young Street for several minutes before transporting the victim to an area hospital for treatment. Detectives talked with the victim in the back of the ambulance and searched vacant lots on Grove and Jacoby streets.
According to the police report, Williams said Jackson wanted his money, they got into an argument, and Jackson shot him.
A witness told officers she saw two men outside a vehicle arguing then all of a sudden she saw one man pull out a handgun and shoot the other man.
After checking where the witnesses saw the shooting, police collected $916 blowing around in the area, according to the police.
In another incident, two houses and a car were hit by gunfire late Sunday night, but there were no injuries.
Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Street at about 11:25 p.m. on a report of shots fired in the area. An investigation showed that neighboring houses in the 2400 block of Elmo Place had been struck by several bullets, according to the police report.
Witnesses said a white Kia was possibly involved and had been seen heading toward University Boulevard.
A bullet hole was found in a fence, and a bullet was found in one of the residences. Then a neighboring house was stuck by “at least eight rounds,” but there was no one inside.
The suspect vehicle was stopped in the 800 block of 16th Avenue, where two people fled from the car. There were five teens who stayed in the car, according to police.

Officers said the occupants, three of whom were juveniles, were vague and unwilling to give information about the incident on Elmo.
Eventually, the teens said they and the two people who ran from the car, known only as Juan and Chiggy, and been in one of the residences on Elmo when someone started shooting at the house. They all went to the basement then left.
A bag of marijuana and scales were found in the car. It had also been hit by two bullets.
Birk said the two incidents are not related.
