Robert Brinkman appeared today in Butler County Common Pleas Court, where Judge Greg Howard set Nov. 5 as a trial date. He is also charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.
According to a Monroe police report, officers were contacted on July 6 by a mother concerning messages her 13-year-old daughter had received via Snapchat.

Brinkman is free from jail and is wearing a GPS ankle monitor. Howard also ordered him to not possess a firearm, to not have contact with the victim, and to not have contact with anyone under the age of 18.
He was previously permitted by the judge to travel in Butler and Hamilton counties, but today asked permission to travel to Clermont County to visit his father. The judge granted the request.
Brinkman was initially suspended from his job with Colerain Twp. pending outcome of an internal investigation, but has since been terminated.
