Police were called on June 29 to a residence in the 3100 block of Morgan Street to check on the well-being of a child, the report read. Witnesses said they saw two people who appeared to be “on drugs,” according to the report.
When police walked through the home, they saw numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia scattered throughout the house, according to report. The temperature in the residence was about 87 degrees and the air conditioning wasn’t working.

The house was in “deplorable” conditions, the report read. There were animal feces scattered on the floor and multiple bugs, debris and dirt scattered throughout the house, according to police. The smell in the house gave the officers headaches, the report read.
Police contacted a relative of the boy and he was placed with him, according to the report. Butler County Children Services was also contacted to investigate.
Brittany Earls, 26, and Robert Jackson, 28, pleaded guilty to the first-degree misdemeanor charges of child endangering on July 2 before Judge James Sherron in Middletown Municipal Court.
