Middletown Police Maj. Scott Reeve said the shooting was the result of an “ongoing conflict” between Wallace and Amison.
Officers were dispatched about 6:25 p.m. to the area of Casper and Iglehart streets on a report of a person shot and unresponsive.
Wallace was taken to Atrium Medical Center, where he died.
According to court documents obtained by the Journal-News, Wallace was shot five times.
Amison saw Wallace walking on Manchester Avenue, got out of a vehicle and “shot (Wallace) five times, causing his death,” according to the complaint.

Amison drove to Trenton, where officers found him on Mars Drive. He was arrested, along with a 16-year-old boy charged with obstructing official business.
