Police Chief Craig Bucheit announced Jones’ arrest Tuesday night on social media.

He said “an exhaustive investigation” by Hamilton police ended in a SWAT search warrant and arrest around 4 p.m. in the 600 block of Eaton Avenue in Hamilton.

Jones was booked into the Butler County Jail on suspicion of two counts of felonious assault and one count of improperly discharging a firearm.

Police were called shortly after 9:30 p.m. Nov. 21 to a report of a child shot inside the home.

When they arrived, the 2-year-old gunshot victim was being driven by her mother to Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus in Liberty Twp. From there, she was transferred to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati.

A hospital employee said Tuesday night the girl has been discharged, but that it wasn’t clear when.

According to neighbors, a man twice drove by the house and shot multiple times.

Bucheit told our media partner, WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, that the house or household member was targeted in the shooting, but not the child victim.
