$500,000 bond for man charged with firing shots that injured 2 kids

Bond was set at $500,000 for a Hamilton man charged with the Thanksgiving Eve shooting that injured two children.

Noah Kaleb Jones was in Butler County Common Pleas Court Thursday for an arraignment on three counts of felonious assault and discharge of a firearm into a habitation. He was indicted Dec. 7 by a grand jury.

Jones, 23, of the 60o block of Eaton Avenue, allegedly fired shots into a residence in the 100 block of Lulu Avenue on Nov. 21 hitting 22-month-old Adison Mitchell in the jaw and Kayla Rader, 9, in the right leg, according to court documents.

Judge Jennifer McElfresh set bond and scheduled a pre-trial hearing for Jan. 17. He remains housed in the Butler County Jail.

The family of the young victims didn’t attend the arraignment

Police were called shortly after 9:30 p.m. Nov. 21 to a report of a child shot inside the home.

When they arrived, the 22-month-old gunshot victim was being driven by her mother to Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus in Liberty Twp. From there, the child was transferred to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. The children have been discharged from the hospital.

According to neighbors, a man drove by the house twice and shot multiple times.
