Crash leads to power outages Friday morning in Fairfield

Duke Energy updated its outage report Friday early afternoon, Jan. 10 that 923 customers were still without power in Fairfield. As of 1 p.m., the power was not restored.

Power is expected to return to customers at various times, between 2 and 3:45 p.m.

The outage is a result of a single-vehicle crash into a utility pole in the 5300 block of South Gilmore Road, which happened just after 8 a.m.

No one was injured in the crash. Duke was on the scene shortly after the incident and the road was temporarily closed so crews could repair the damaged wires and pole.
