UPDATE @ 4:57 p.m.:
A black Dodge Avenger was traveling southbound on Dixie Highway when a black Toyota Celica attempted to turn north from a private driveway when the accident occurred.
Police Officer Doug Day said it’s uncertain which vehicle is at fault as the crash, which occurred at 3:23 p.m. today, is still under investigation.
The driver of the Toyota was flown to University Hospital in Cincinnati by medical helicopter and the driver of the Dodge was transported to Mercy Hospital-Fairfield by ambulance.
Injuries and the identities of the two motorists are unknown at this time, but Day confirmed the person flown to the hospital is a male. There were no other occupants in either vehicle, Day said.
Traffic is still blocked at the accident site and motorists are advised to find an alternate route.

City officials confirm there are two vehicles involved in the crash, and one person was taken to University Hospital in Cincinnati by medical helicopter.

A medical helicopter has landed on Dixie Highway in Fairfield.
Emergency crews are in the process of extricating one person from a multi-vehicle crash.

City officials say they don’t know how long the road will be shut down.
To go around the accident:
- motorists north of the accident are advised to take Mack Road (westbound traffic) or Muhlhauser Road (eastbound traffic)
- motorists south of the accident are advised to take Interstate 275 East to Princeton Pike or Interstate 275 West to Winton Road
FIRST REPORT:
A medical helicopter has been dispatched to the 7300 block of Dixie Highway following a multi-vehicle crash.
Dispatchers say the road has been closed in both directions in front of Tri-County Assembly of God and there is a person trapped in one of the vehicles.
