The township, which now has possession of the monument, will be repaired by the end of the month, according to Traci Stivers, township administrator.
She said city has agreed to have the plaque repaired.
Township trustees have not yet decided the future of the monument that honors Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee and the Dixie Highway, according to Stivers.
The matter is not on Wednesday’s township trustees’ meeting agenda.
“I don’t anticipate any discussion on this at Wednesday’s meeting, ” Stivers said.
