Details about the proposals would not be available until the contract is negotiated and awarded, she said.
“It provides MetroParks the ability to be innovative in the inclusion of design elements throughout the process until the contract is awarded and allows for further negotiation with all three companies prior to that time,” Barkley said. “MetroParks will be working with the contractors in a continuous effort to look for additional ways to minimize cost and responsibly leverage available resources.”
She said the expectation is that construction would begin around May 1 and wrap up around Nov. 1.
The new fieldhouse will feature restrooms, a concession area, a storage area for equipment, and trainer’s rooms.
West Chester Hospital has committed to contribute the capital dollars as well as other services.
