Dawson is accused of handing the gun to the 15-year-old after an altercation involving several young people. The 15-year-old is accused of firing the weapon.

Butler County Prosecutor Michael Gmoser said the tampering with evidence charge against Dawson is because he threw the gun in the river. It was later recovered, according to Gmoser.

Several 911 calls were made by people in the neighborhood who witnessed the incident.

“I’m on Corwin Avenue in Lindenwald and they fired a shot and someone punched a girl in the face and they are driving by with a busted out window,” one 911 caller told dispatchers. “Four shots fired and they took off north on 127….”

Another person who called 911 described the physical fight to dispatchers.

“There is someone fighting on the street and one woman is getting beat up pretty bad,” the second caller says. “They are still beating her. They are still going at it. Just feet and fists going crazy.”
