Changes are coming to Wiggly Field, the dog park at Voice of America MetroPark in West Chester Twp.

For some time, people who take their four-legged friend to the dog park have been asking for improvements, said Kelly Barkley, MetroParks’ senior manager of community relations.

She said users have reported often muddy conditions, poor fencing, gates that stick, and a lack of fresh drinking water at the park, which features fenced-in paddocks for small, medium and large dogs to run.

MetroParks is planning to replace fencing and re-configure the paddocks in phases over the next two years, Barkley said.

The plans include:

  • 2017: Construct a new small dog area and add a drinking fountain.
  • 2018: Remove fencing from the north paddock and allow the area to rest and regenerate.
  • 2019: Address drainage issues and reconstruct the north paddock.

Wiggly Field users are invited to provide feedback on the plans by clicking here.
