A Carlisle man was sentenced last week in Warren County Common Pleas Court to 28 years in prison for the sexual assault of a girl.

In October, Brian Thoma, 42, was found guilty of eight counts of sexual battery, third-degree felonies; and seven counts of gross sexual imposition, fourth-degree felonies.

In April 2016, the minor victim disclosed to her friend at school that Thoma had been molesting her since September 2015, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office. This was reported to a teacher and principal who contacted law enforcement. Prosecutors said the victim then disclosed to law enforcement that the sexual assault would occur on a weekly basis. Detectives went to Thoma’s home where he was arrested and later admitted to inappropriately touching the victim.
