Carlisle man sentenced to life in prison for raping child

A Carlisle man has been sentenced to life in prison following his conviction on multiple charges for raping a child over a two-year period.

Justin M. Fannin, 42, was sentenced Friday in Warren County Common Pleas Court after being convicted of three counts of rape, all first-degree felonies, and one count of gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony, last week. Fannin will not be eligible for parole for 33 years.

According to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, from Feb. 1, 2017 through Jan. 31, 2019, Fannin engaged in sexual conduct with the juvenile female victim on three separate occasions at Fannin’s residence, which was located in Clearcreek Twp. The child was under eight years of age at the time of the offense, according to the prosecutor’s office.

“I continue to be impressed by the bravery shown by these young child victims when they come into court – in front of jurors, prosecutors, audience members, and the defendants themselves – and tell their stories of the horrific things done to them,” said Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell.
