A company with operations across Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas plans to construct and open a new car wash along a highly visible area in Hamilton.

Kings Carwash Express will be located on the south side of High Street between the Jack Kirsch Underpass and 7th Street and offer tunnel car washes.

Described as a higher-quality wash than self-service options and half cost of a full service wash, an express tunnel wash takes three minutes after a motorist pays via cash or credit card at an automated, touch-screen pay station, according to the company. Car washes cost between $7 for the most basic package all the way up to a deluxe wash, which includes a wash, tire shine, and a lava shield paint sealant for $22.

In the tunnel, a series of lights and messages remind customers what products are being applied to a vehicle, which exits the tunnel “99% dry” because of what the company describes as “a state-of-the-art blower and drying system.”

Kings Carwash Express also features access to free vacuums and access to other amenities, including the use of free microfiber towels, window cleaning solution, cleaner/degreaser and a free mat washing machine.

“The customer is in control of the cleaning of the interior of the car, so no strangers are ever in your vehicle,” said Cole Moye, acquisitions manager for Express Wash Holdings. “All this is available at half the price of a full service car wash, and in a fraction of the time.”

Kings Carwash Express is the sister company to the Wave Auto Wash and Camel Carwash companies that have operations across the southeast in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. It is working to bring four new locations to Ohio with plans to increase development across the state.

Hamilton City Manager Joshua Smith said building plans are set to be finalized in the next 90 days and the car wash will be located in “a very visible area of High Street.”

“We worked closely with the ownership to ensure it would be attractive, while providing an amenity that was not convenient in that area,” Smith said.

Plans for a 2020 groundbreaking on the project are already underway, according to city officials.
