Car stuck on tracks hit by train in Hamilton

There were no injuries Sunday night when a train hit a car on the tracks near McDonald’s on High Street, according to police.

A person was driving west on Maple Avenue, near Witt Way, when they turned right onto the railroad track at about 7:35 p.m., said Hamilton Police Department’s Sgt. Rich Burkhardt.

The car got stuck on the tracks and the driver left the vehicle to get help. That’s when a train hit the car, police said.

Burkhardt said the incident is still under investigation.
