Candice Keller was sworn in as the state representative for the 53rd Ohio House District.

She will finish out the remaining term of former state lawmaker Tim Derickson, who resigned in August to serve as the director of the state funeral board. Derickson was term-limited and could not seek another term.

Keller, R-Middletown, won election on Nov. 8 and will begin her full two-year term at the beginning of the year.

Speaker of the Ohio House Cliff Rosenberger sworn in Keller on Wednesday afternoon on the floor of the Ohio House.

“I look forward to serving the people of my district, and I’m anxious to get to work,” said Keller. “This election has proven that our nation wants a constitutionally led government, and I want Ohio to lead the way.”

The 53rd Ohio House District incorporates the northern portions of Butler County, including all of Oxford and Hanover Twp., and parts of Middletown.
