UPDATE @ 2:30 p.m.:
A Middletown city official said she was unaware an East End restaurant was closing.
Jennifer Ekey, director of economic development, said she’s “disappointed” whenever a Middletown business closes. She said the city is continuing its efforts in retail and restaurant recruitment in the area and has made “progress on a number of fronts.”
FIRST REPORT:

Lone Star Steakhouse, 6780 Roosevelt Ave. in Middletown, closed Sunday night.
A sign taped today to the restaurant’s front door thanked “valued guests” for their support.
“Thank you for your business and we hope to serve you at another location very soon,” the sign read.
There were a few workers in the parking lot this morning, but none wanted to comment. At least one piece of restaurant equipment had been moved outside.
The Journal-News has reached out to representatives with the Lone Star restaurant chain for comment.
Last week, the Bob Evans at 4646 Dixie Highway closed without warning.
