Butler County sheriff seeking owner of neglected dog found on side of road

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the owner of this severely emaciated and dehydrated dog that was found Wednesday on a St. Clair Twp. road. CONTRIBUTED

The Butler County Dog Warden located a severely neglected pit bull/Labrador mix on Wednesday as the dog was sitting on the side of a road in St. Clair Twp., and deputies are searching for the owner.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the severely emaciated and dehydrated dog was found in the 2600 block of Hamilton Middletown Road and was taken to a veterinarian for treatment. The dog did not have a chip, tags or a collar.

“We ask anyone who may recognize this canine to come forward,” said Sheriff Richard Jones. “We will work diligently to seek who is responsible for this abuse and hold them accountable.”
