Butler County gas prices less than metro Cincinnati average

Average retail gasoline prices in metro Cincinnati have dropped about 14 cents per gallons in the past week and now average $2.60 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com’s daily survey of 637 gas outlets in Cincinnati.

This compares with the national average that has fallen 4.5 cents increased 2.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.34 a gallon, according to the gasoline price website.

In Butler County, the cheapest gas was $2.33 per gallon at three locations in Middletown. They include:

  • Marathon and Valero stations at Germantown and Wilbraham roads
  • Verity Fuel Mart at North Verity Parkway and Winona Drive

There are also a number of gas stations selling gas between $2.43 and $2.52 a gallon in Hamilton, Hanover Twp., and in Liberty Twp.

“The price of crude oil, which had been gaining steam leading up to June, has now experienced a sustained downturn over the last couple of weeks,” said Will Speer, GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst. “No area has seen this impact more pronounced than the Great Lakes states, where Indiana and Ohio saw their gas prices fall over 15 cents per gallon in one week.”
