A barn in Hanover Twp. was destroyed Monday after being engulfed in fire.

Fire crews from four townships responded to the huge blaze on Monday morning on Stahlheber Road and dispatchers at the time of the call said there was a person inside the structure. Deputy Fire Chief Fred Stitsinger told the Journal-News no people or animals were in the barn and the cause is under investigation.

“We’re still doing an investigation, it’s not suspicious in any way,” he said. “There was nobody there and no heat, no lighting, probably just electrical.”

The call came in at around 10:15 a.m. Stitsinger said “it was pretty much a surround and drown and we were back at the station by 2:30 p.m.”

Crews from Hanover, Milford Reily and Ross townships responded.
