Brown’s Deli is back.

The business shut down in late May after owner John Brown couldn’t find a buyer.

Enter Rick Sherrill, of Monroe, who got to know the deli as his wife Kelly shopped there when Brown owned it.

“Looking for opportunities, I had never seen Brown’s Deli until my wife brought up the idea of potentially purchasing the business from Mr. Brown,” Sherrill told the Journal-News. “She brought me to the deli to take a look at it and from that moment (I) realized why she often came from Monroe to shop there.”

Sherrill said he has talked with all the former employees of Brown’s Deli and all are interested in being employed under the new ownership.
