A 10-year-old boy was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly chased his sister around the house with a knife, according to police.

Middletown police were called Wednesday night to a residence in the 300 block of Sharon Court. A woman there told police that while she was at work, her 10-year-old son grabbed several kitchen knives and chased his 12-year-old sister around the house. He was upset because his sister took the TV remote control, according to a police report.

The girl ran into a bedroom and attempted to close the door, police said. The boy then tried to reach around the door with the knife.

The mother told police she wanted her son charged.

The boy was taken to the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center. He appeared in court this morning and he was sent back to the juvenile detention center.

He will have a pre-trial hearing Wednesday before Magistrate Patricia Wilkerson, according to court documents.
