Bond was set at $250,000 cash for a Clearcreek Twp. man accused of murder in the death of his infant son and allegedly abusing another son.

Cody Colwell, 27, appeared Wednesday in Warren County Common Pleas Court. He was ordered to not have contact with minor children, and he also is not allowed to pay 10 percent of bond to be released, as is sometimes the case.

Colwell was indicted late last month by a Warren County grand jury on two counts of murder, felonious assault, and two counts of endangering children following an investigation of the death of infant, Cayden Colwell, who was found unresponsive in a Clearcreek Twp, home in April.

Cayden, 2 months old, died April 16 after being taken off life support at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, according to Clearcreek Twp. Chief John Terrill.

Colwell’s 3-year-old son also was examined after the incident and was found to have multiple bruises on his body, including on the shoulder, cheek, neck and abdomen, according to Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell.
